Bolivia is hosting Brazil at Estadio Hernando Siles in round 18 of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifications. Bolivia has lost every chance at qualifying for the World Cup, but they could end these qualifications by beating the leader. Brazil is at the top of the table, they will remain there, and we will be seeing them at the World Cup.

Bolivia was solid in the attacking end in these qualifications with 23 goals, but their defense has been terrible with 38 conceded goals in 17 games, and that is an average of over 2 conceded goals per game. Before their last game, Bolivia has had a decent chance at getting to those additional qualifications, but they lost to Colombia, which was their 3rd loss in a row. In their last 3 games, Bolivia has conceded 10 goals, while they have scored only 3, and they are simply not good enough for the World Cup right now. Martins is the leading goalscorer for Bolivia with 10 goals. I think we can expect a few changes in the Bolivian team for this game, and that is ok since they have nothing to lose or to gain.

Brazil has been really good in these qualifications, they are still undefeated, and they are at the top of the table with 42 points. Both offensively, and defensively, Brazil is the best team, and they will be very competitive at the World Cup. Of the 36 goals Brazil has scored so far in these qualifications, Neymar has scored 8, while Richarlison has added 4 goals. Just in their last 2 games, Brazil has scored 8 goals, and they have kept a clean sheet in both of those games. Same as Bolivia, I think Brazil will make some changes in their starting lineup here, and some players who haven’t been playing a lot will get more playing time here, but even those players are far better than Bolivia is. Brazil will win the top spot, they have already qualified for the World Cup, but I’m sure they would love to stay undefeated.

Bolivia was a solid team when it comes to scoring goals, but even though Brazil doesn’t need anything here, they will go for the win. I’m taking Brazil and the goals in this one.
