Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are clashing at Signal Iduna Park in round 21 of the German Bundesliga. Borussia is trying to keep up with Bayern, but they are now 9 points behind, and they will have a hard time catching up. Leverkusen has been playing better as of late, they are scoring a ton of goals, but they can’t close out games.

As I’ve mentioned, Borussia is now 9 points behind Bayern, in 2nd place with 43 points, 52 scored goals, and 31 conceded goals. Offensively, Borussia is an outstanding team, but defensively, they are just garbage. In their last game against Hoffenheim, they did get a 2-3 win, but it was a tough game for them where they had to fight until the very end. With 52 scored goals, Borussia is the second-best offensive team in Bundesliga, just behind Bayern, who are untouchable, to be honest. Of those 52 goals, Haaland has scored 16, and they better enjoy it because he will leave in the summer. Haaland has also added 6 assists. As of right now, Haaland is on the injury list alongside Can, Schmelzer, and Morey, but that could change by the game time. Borussia is a great team who can outscore anyone, but they can’t defend against many teams.

Leverkusen is now in 3rd place, and honestly, both Bayern and Borussia are out of their reach, but they can certainly compete with them in the attacking end. Leverkusen has scored 49 goals so far this season, and one player, in particular, was in great form, Patrik Schick who scored 18 goals so far this season. Diaby has added 8 goals and 5 assists, while Wirtz has 9 assists. There are a few injured players in Leverkusen, including the new arrival, Sardar Azmoun. By signing Azmoun, Leverkusen is getting ready for next season because they expect Schick to leave, but it’s still unknown where he will go. Leverkusen was in good form just before the international break, they are on a 2-game winning streak, while not losing any of their last 3 games, which is a clear sign of improvement on both ends, and I hope they can keep it up. Leverkusen is an incredibly talented team, mostly in the attacking end and midfield, but if you can outscore most of the teams, the defense comes second, I guess.

This is going to be a great game I think with 2 amazing offensive teams, and with barely any defense. If Haaland will be in the lineup, it will only be that much better, but even if he isn’t I see goals.
