Borussia Dortmund is hosting Hertha BSC at Signal Iduna Park in round 34 of the German Bundesliga. Borussia will end this season in 2nd place, they don’t need anything here, but this is the last game for Haaland at Signal Iduna Park. Hertha is still in the relegation battle in Bundesliga, and even though they are safe at the moment, they could drop to the relegation zone if they lose this match and if Stuttgart wins their game.
Borussia has been sloppy throughout the entire season, especially on the defensive end, and all the injuries they had certainly didn’t help. At the moment, Borussia still has a ton of injuries, but the good news for them is that the season is over. In the standings, Borussia is in 2nd place with 66 points, and they will remain there after this game as well. This was another season for Borussia where they were close to Bayern at some point, but they managed to blow it all once again. I mentioned Haaland, and this is his last game for Borussia because he was sold to Manchester City for 75 million Euros. Haaland is the leading goalscorer for Borussia with 21 scored goals and 7 assists, while Brandt has added 9 goals and 8 assists. Reus is the best assistant for Borussia with 12 assists. Borussia has nothing to play for in this game except for their fans, which is always enough, and I think Borussia has a good game here.
Hertha is above the relegation zone right now, they are in 15th place with 33 points, but that could change quickly. With only 3 points more than Stuttgart, and with a worse goals difference, Hertha could drop to 16th if Stuttgart gets the win. Of the 36 goals Hertha has scored, Jovetic has 6 goals, while Richter has added 5 goals. Mittelstadt has added 5 assists. There are a few injuries in Hertha as well. This game would have been a lot easier if Hertha was the home team, but with the way Hertha has been playing lately, they need a miracle to stay outside the relegation zone. Defensively, Hertha is one of the weakest teams in the league with 69 conceded goals, they are not scoring a lot, but in this game, they will need that. I don’t think Hertha can stop Borussia from scoring, which means they will need to outscore them.
Dortmund hasn’t lost to Hertha in their last 8 home games, and it will stay like that in this game as well. Despite all the injuries and bad form, Borussia is the better team here, and even though they don’t need anything here, they will go for the win. Sorry, Hertha.
