Borussia M’gladbach is hosting Borussia Dortmund in a derby match of round 6 in the German Bundesliga. Despite having a great team, Borussia M’gladbach is struggling this season, and they are very inconsistent. Borussia Dortmund has caught a good form, and they are now on a 4-game winning streak in Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Borussia M’gladbach has won only 1 of their last 5 games, and that was against a weak Arminia. With only 4 points, only 5 scored goals, and 9 conceded goals, M’gladbach is now in 16th place, but I think they will start climbing soon. Borussia M’gladbach was playing against Augsburg on the road last week, and they were dominant with 71% of ball possession, 0 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 86% of the correct passes. Despite all the chances and all the shots, M’gladbach was incredibly ineffective in this game, and their defense lost focus in the 80th minute. With that conceded goal, Borussia M’gladbach ended up losing this game 1-0. Stindl has scored 2 goals for Borussia M’gladbach so far this season. the injury list is getting shorter for M’gladbach, and they definitely need all the help they can get to get back on the winning track.

Borussia Dortmund on the other hand has been outstanding so far this season, but their defense is still one of the worst in Bundesliga. Dortmund is slowly catching up to Bayern and they are now in 3rd place with 12 points, 17 scored goals, and 11 conceded goals. With only 5 behind us, Haaland has already scored 7 goals and added 4 assists, and he has been Borussia Dortmund’s savior this season. Morey, Zagadou, Reyna, Tigges, and Brandt are all injured, and those are players Borussia could certainly use in the Champions League next week. During their winning streak, Borussia has scored 13 goals, but they have conceded at least 1 goal in each of their last 7 games in a row. In their last game against Union Berlin in Bundesliga last week, Borussia has had 63% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and a solid 85% of the correct passes. In the 52nd minute, it was 3-0 for Borussia, but Union Berlin has scored 2 goals and this game has become interesting once again. With a goal in the 83rd minute, Borussia has sealed Union’s fate, and they have won this game 4-2. I know this is an important game for Borussia, but I think they are already thinking about the Champions League game next week, and that is never a good thing.

With this being a derby match in Bundesliga, this game could go either way, to be honest, but both teams are sloppy in the defensive end, and Dortmund has been scoring for fun this season. I’m taking goals in this one.
