Brentford and Watford face off on Friday in an English Premier League showdown at Brentford Community Stadium. The last time these two teams faced off was in July and it was Brentford that won 3-1.
Brentford currently sits in 13th place in the standings having picked up 17 points. Brentford has picked up at least a point in three of their last four games. In the last game against Leeds United, the offense was strong scoring two goals but the defense also gave up two goals and that led to the draw. Two games ago against Tottenham the offense couldn’t find any success and that led to the 2-0 defeat. Brentford has scored 19 goals total while their defense has given up 21 goals total. Ivan Toney has been the top player for Brentford scoring four goals and adding two assists.
On the other side of this matchup is Watford who sits in 17th place in the standings having picked up 13 points. Watford has really struggled especially as of late losing three games in a row. Over the last three games Watford has given up nine goals total, and if they want any chance to find success in this game, the defense is going to need to be a lot better. Watford has scored 20 goals total while their defense has given up 29 goals total. Emmanuel Dennis has been the top player for Watford scoring six goals and adding five assists. Ismaila Sarr has also been strong, putting up five goals.
Watford’s defense has been an issue and it’s going to be no different in this game. I expect Brentford is going to score a few goals and Watford is also going to score at least a goal. Both teams' scoring is going to push this game over the total.
