Brighton and Chelsea face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Falmer Stadium. When these two teams faced off on January 18th the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Brighton comes into this game sitting in 9th place in the group having picked up 15 points. Last Saturday, Brighton faced off against Manchester City, and they were defeated 3-1. Leandro Trossard scored in the 53rd minute and was the only goalscorer in the game. Brighton had 52 percent of the possession, but only two shots on target. Adam Lallana and Joel Veltman were both banged up in the last game, and it’s doubtful they are going to be able to play in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Chelsea, who sits in 5th place in the group having picked up 21 points. Last Saturday, Chelsea faced off against Manchester United and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Jorginho scored in the 87th minute, but the defense gave up 94 minute. Chelsea had 47 percent of the possession and two shots on target.  Kalidou Koulibaly is still dealing with fitness injuries, but he could be back in this game if he passes the pregame test. N’Golo Kante, Reece James, and Wesley Fofana are all dealing with injuries that are expected to keep them out through the World Cup.

The last time these two teams faced off, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, and I expect something like that again here. Chelsea are dealing with so many injuries and I expect they are going to really struggle to score here. Brighton only scored one goal in the last game, and they are going to struggle to get any goals against Chelsea here. Look for a 1-0 or 1-1 type of game, and there will be two or fewer goals scored here. Back the under.
