Aston Villa opened up their Premier League season against Newcastle and they looked awful in that game losing 5-1. In the second game though, Aston Villa bounced back and were able to beat Everton 4-0. John McGinn opened up the scoring in the 18th minute and they never looked back on the way to the easy victory. Aston Villa also played a midweek game and beat Hibernian 5-0. Emiliano Martinez did get hurt in that game and is dealing with a calf injury. He was able to train on Friday and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. If he can’t go, that is quite a big loss for this team. Nicolo Zaniolo is someone who’s expected to be on the bench for this game, and it wouldn’t be shocking if he at least played part of the game.

The injury to Martinez is quite concerning to me, but I still believe Aston Villa will be able to overcome it, even if he isn’t able to go here. Aston Villa’s offense has been impressive heading into this game, and they are going to have no issues scoring again here.
