Burnley is hosting Manchester City at Turf Moor in round 31 of the English Premier League. Burnley is in the relegation zone and judging how their season has gone so far, I don’t think they will get out. City is at the top of the table, but they are only 1 point above Liverpool, and they are playing in the Champions League as well next week.

Burnley looked like they are improving a few weeks ago, but they are now on a 3-game losing streak, while not winning any of their last 4 games. During this 3-game losing streak, Burnley has conceded 8 goals, while they haven’t scored a single goal. As I’ve mentioned, Burnley is in the relegation zone, they are in 19th place with 21 points. In the attacking end, Burnley is one of the weakest teams in the league with only 22 scored goals, while their defense has been decent with 38 conceded goals. There is hope for Burnley to get out of the relegation zone, but they don’t have a lot of time to start producing something. Cornet is their leading goalscorer with 6 goals. There are a few injuries in Burnley, but even if there aren’t, Burnley wouldn’t be any better.

City has been undefeated for a while, and they are still in the Champions League, but they are feeling the pressure from Liverpool in the EPL. In their last game, City has beaten Southampton in the FA Cup, but that competition is secondary to them. Overall, City is the best team in the league with 68 scored goals and only 18 conceded goals, and as I’ve mentioned, they are still at the top of the table with 70 points. In the Champions League, City will be hosting Atletico Madrid next week, and that is a game they need to win. In my opinion, City is the biggest favorite to win the title, if they can stay healthy. Mahrez and Sterling have each scored 10 goals for City so far this season, while De Bruyne has added 9 goals. Jesus has 7 assists. The problem for City is they are still playing in 3 different competitions, and that is a hard thing to do this late in the season, but they are a team that has depth, quality, and everything the winning team has to have.

The trends are heavily on City’s side in this matchup, and I see it staying that way. Burnley hasn’t won a lot of games this season, only 2 at home, and they haven’t won any of their last 9 games against Manchester City. With Liverpool being behind City, they are certainly feeling the pressure, and for that reason, I think they will go for the win.
