Celta Vigo is welcoming Real Madrid to Municipal de Balaidos in round 30 of the Spanish LaLiga. Celta is a decent team, they are in decent form right now, and they are much better at home than on the road. Real Madrid is still leading LaLiga, they are probably the best team overall, and they are playing in the Champions League next week.
Celta has won only 1 of their last 6 games, but they have also lost only 2 of those 6 games, and this is the season where they finally don’t have to worry about if they will stay in the league or not. With 36 points, Celta is now in 11th place, they have scored 33 goals while conceding 32 goals in 29 games. As we can see, Celta’s defense has been pretty solid, but their offense hasn’t been producing as much as it should, which is strange because they certainly have the talent to do so. Aspas is the leading goalscorer for Celta with 13 goals and 4 assists. Cervi is the only injured player for Celta as of right now. Overall, a good season for Celta, but I think they could have done more.
As I’ve mentioned, Real Madrid is still at the top of the table, but they got destroyed by Barcelona just before the international break. In that game, Real Madrid was just horrible, on both ends, and I have a feeling they wouldn’t have scored a goal even if they played another half. The good news for Real is they still have a 9-point advantage in front of Sevilla, and that is good because they are still playing in the Champions League. Mendy is injured, while Benzema is still questionable. The bad news for Real is they will be without Ancelotti in this game because of Covid. Being without Benzema is a huge problem for Real because he is their best player with 22 goals and 10 assists. Vinicius has added 14 goals and 6 assists. Overall, Real has been the most consistent team in LaLiga this season, and they have been the best team as well, but we will see if they can handle playing in two competitions for the rest of the season, or will they get knocked out against Chelsea.
Real Madrid has been dominant in this matchup so far, but Celta is a solid team at home this season, and they are in decent form. I definitely think Celta can score here, but so can Real Madrid, even if Benzema won’t be playing.
