Chelsea vs. Tottenham Hotspur 1/23/22 Premier League Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur face off on Sunday in an English Premier League at Stamford Bridge. These two teams just faced off on January 12th and it was Chelsea that came away with the 1-0 victory. Chelsea had 64 percent of the possession in that game, but both teams finished with three shots on goal. 

Chelsea currently sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 44 points so far this year. Chelsea’s last game came against Brighton, and they were only able to pick up one point in that game. After scoring a goal in the 28th minute, Chelsea gave up a goal in the 60th minute and that led to the defeat. Chelsea has scored 46 goals total while their defense has given up 18 goals total. Mason Mount has been the top player for Chelsea scoring seven goals and adding another five assists. Jorginho has also been having a big season scoring six goals and adding another assist. 

On the other side of this matchup is Tottenham Hotspur who sits in 6th place in the standings having picked up 36 points. Tottenham has to be flying high coming into this game after the way the last one ended .Tottenham scored a couple goals in the last three minutes against Leicester City to win by a goal. Tottenham has scored 26 goals total while their defense has given up 22. Son Heung-Min has also been strong, scoring eight goals and adding three assists.

Chelsea’s strength has been their defense all season and I expect that will be the case again in this one. I don’t see Tottenham getting many good scoring chances, but Chelsea will be limited to only a goal or two. Look for a low scoring game that stays under the total.
