Chelsea is hosting West Ham at Stamford Bridge in round 34 of the English Premier League. Chelsea has been hot and cold lately, they are in 3rd place in the standings, but they are playing in the FA Cup finals. West Ham has also been hot and cold lately, but they will be playing in the Europa League semifinals next week.

Chelsea was on a nice 3-game winning streak, but then they lost to Arsenal, and it was quite an embarrassing loss, to be honest. With 62 points, Chelsea is still in 3rd place in the standings, but Arsenal is now only 2 points away, and Chelsea is in danger of losing the Champions League spot unless they get it going fast. Defensively, Chelsea used to be one of the best teams in the league, but that defense has been inconsistent lately, and that is their biggest problem. With 66 scored goals so far this season, Chelsea has done well in the attacking end, but if their strikers were in better form, they could have had even more scored goals. Mount is the leading goalscorer for Chelsea with 10 goals and 9 assists. The injury list has grown longer, and Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Rudiger, and Christiansen are all out at the moment. Chelsea will go for that FA Cup trophy since that is the only one they can win this season, but they also need to stay afloat in the EPL.

West Ham is undefeated in their last 3 games, and with this being such a big matchup, I don’t think they will rest any players here. The Hammers are playing in the Europa League semifinals next week against Eintracht, and the good news is the first leg is at home, so they don’t have to travel to Germany this week. In their last game against Burnley, West Ham was dominant, they have had better chances, but this game has ended in a 1-1 draw. As far as the EPL standings go, West Ham is now in 7th place with 52 points, which is still within the Europa League range, but if they win it this season, West Ham will go to the Champions League. Bowen is leading West Ham with 9 goals and 8 assists, while Antonio has added 8 goals. Ogbonna, Zouma, and Diop are all injured. West Ham has a tough couple of weeks ahead, but they have been good enough this season to get this Europa League trophy, and I hope they do.

Chelsea has been dominant in this matchup, but with both teams struggling a bit lately, I think this could turn out to be a pretty even game. I think we could have a goal on each side, but I also think this will be a draw.
