FC Koln is hosting Borussia Dortmund at RheinEnergieStadion in round 27 of the German Bundesliga. Koln is a solid team, they can beat anyone on a good day, but they are not scoring a lot lately. Borussia has kept 2 clean sheets in a row despite missing half of their defense, but they have scored only 2 goals in those 2 games.
Koln is now in 7th place with 39 points, which is now 5 points less than Hoffenheim who are on the Conference League spot, but there are still a lot of games left to be played. Koln is a pretty even team when it comes to offense and defense, and they have scored 37 goals while conceding 39 goals in 26 games. Modeste is the leading goalscorer for Koln with 15 goals, but when he is not scoring, the who team is struggling a lot. There are no notable injuries in Koln as of right now. Koln did get a win last weekend against Leverkusen in Bundesliga, but I’m not sure they can do it here as well.
As I’ve mentioned, Borussia has won their last 2 games in a row, their offense hasn’t done much with only 2 scored goals, but their defense has stepped up big. Thanks to these two wins, Borussia has gotten within 4 points from Bayern, and if they can keep winning, Bayern might slip up somewhere along the way. Borussia still has a lot of injuries, but they are getting a few players back, and that will certainly help them with their depth issues. Haaland is still the leading goalscorer for Borussia with 16 goals, while Reus has added 9 goals. Haaland, Reus, Brandt, and Bellingham have each added 6 assists. The good news for Borussia is they are still playing against Bayern this season, and that game could crucial as to who will win the title this season. I would love to see someone other than Bayern win the title, but unless Borussia can beat them, and beat pretty much everyone else for the rest of the season, it won’t happen.
Koln might have won their last game, but Borussia is looking really good right now, mostly on the defensive end which is a total opposite of how they looked for the rest of the season. We are getting Borussia for a nice plus money, and I will take it.
