FC Nantes is hosting PSG at Stade de la Beujoire in round 25 of the French Ligue 1. Nantes is in solid for right now, they are playing well, but they have been playing against the weaker teams recently. PSG has just beaten Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier this week, and they have won, but they are also doing well in Ligue 1.
In their last 5 games, Nantes has 4 wins and 1 loss, and they are now in the middle of the table, in 10th place with 35 points. Both offensively and defensively, Nantes is quite solid, and I think this is where they will end this season, or somewhere close. Kolo is the leading goalscorer for Nantes with 8 goals, while Blas added 7 goals. Simon has added 7 assists. After this game, Nantes is going back to playing against the weaker teams in the league, and I think they can count on some points over the next few weeks. Nantes has only a couple of injuries, which means they will have the depth to face PSG.
We know PSG has been struggling with scoring goals a lot this season, but they are still somehow the best offensive team in the league, and defensive as well. PSG is still at the top of the table, and they will win this league this season. PSG is now on a 3-game winning streak, and they have beaten Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier this week. PSG has won that game only 1-0, and that was in the last minute of the game, but it could have been a lot more because PSG has destroyed Real Madrid. With 13 goals and 10 assists, Mbappe is the best player for PSG this season, while Messi added 7 assists. Everyone, including me, has expected Messi to explode in PSG, well, maybe not explode, but we certainly expected Messi to have a bigger role in this team. Yes, 7 assists are solid, but he is missing goals, and so does PSG. There is still a lot of time in the league left for Messi to do his thing, but the Champions League is where PSG is looking to have an impact.
Nantes is in good form, and with PSG playing in the Champions League earlier this week, they might be a bit tired. I think Nantes could get on the scoreboard here, but I don’t see them winning this game.
