France is welcoming Bosnia & Herzegovina to Sade de la Meinau in round 4 of group D of the World Cup Qualifications. After a disappointing Euro Cup this summer, France is turning to the World Cup qualifications which they have dominated so far. Not only Bosnia hasn’t qualified for the Euro Cup, but they also haven’t won any of their last 12 games.
France was solid in the group stage in the Euro Cup, but when they played against Switzerland in the knockouts, France got sloppy when they shouldn’t have. France has conceded a goal in the first half, but with 3 goals, they have scored 3 goals, and they were on the verge of winning this game. In the last 10 minutes of the game, France was terrible, and they have conceded 2 goals, and this game went to overtime, and eventually to a penalty shootout. France was worse in the penalty shootout, and they ended up losing this game. France also has a few new players on their roster, and they needed them because it’s not a secret that the morale and the relationship between players are not great. Don’t get wrong, the core of this team is still the same, and they will need a lot of work to put their ego aside, but maybe a bit more competition will help.
Bosnia is in a soft rebuild mode, they have a bunch of young and talented players getting their time in these qualifications, but this team hasn’t been led well in a long time, and I don’t think they will start to play better now. Bosnia has 1 draw and 1 loss in these qualifications so far, they have scored 2 goals while conceding 3 goals. With only 1 point, Bosnia is in 4th place, but they still have a good shot at qualifying for the World Cup, if they start winning games. Dzeko, Pjanic, and Kolasinac are the biggest names in Bosnia’s roster, and they are all expected to play in this match, but only Dzeko is in good form. I know that Bosnia is a solid team, they have had some good results in the past, but their soccer association is not doing a good job, and because of that their national team isn’t doing well. Bosnia will certainly fight for their spot in the World Cup, and I don’t think they are any worse than Ukraine, Finland, and Kazakhstan, but they will still need a lot of luck to qualify.
Bosnia hasn’t won any of their last 13 games, they haven’t won any of their last 5 away games, and they have never won a game against France. It’s not a question of who is the better team here, and I will go with the better team, France.
