Inter is hosting Napoli at Giuseppe Meazza in a derby match of round 13 in the Italian Serie A. Inter is the best offensive team in the league so far, but their defense hasn’t been good enough to be at the top of the table. Napoli’s defense has been good enough for them to be at the top of the table, and they are still without a loss so far this season.
Inter is undefeated in their last 6 games, and they are playing against Shakhtar in the Champions League next week, which is a decisive game for them in that competition. In their last Serie A game against Milan just before the international break, Inter has had 49% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and a solid 80% of the correct passes. Inter got ahead from the penalty spot in the 11th minute, but just 6 minutes later, Inter has scored an own goal, and the score was now tied. We didn’t see any more goals in this game, and the final score was 1-1. Dzeko has scored 7 goals for Inter so far this season, while Martinez added 5 goals. Barella has added 5 assists. With a win in their next Champions League game, Inter will secure the next stage, but that doesn’t mean they can relax in this game, and with it being a derby game, I don’t think they will.
As I’ve mentioned, Napoli is still undefeated this season, and they are deservedly at the top because they have been the best team so far this season. Napoli has scored a fantastic 24 goals so far, but their defense has been the best in the league with only 4 conceded goals, and the best by far. As far as the Europa League goes, Napoli is at the top of their group with 7 points, and they will probably be advancing to the next stage, but they could use a positive result next week. Osimhen is still the leading goalscorer for Inter with 5 goals, while Insigne added 4 goals and 3 assists. Demme and Ounas are both injured. Napoli was playing against Verona in their last game, and they were the better team with 58% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 3 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and 83% of the correct passes. Honestly, this wasn’t Napoli’s best game this season, and they have scored only 1 goal in this game, while they also conceded 1 goal. The final result was 1-1. I know I said this before, but I would love to see Napoli win the title, and they are finally good enough to do it.
Both teams are in excellent form, and both teams are playing in Europe next week. I think this will be an excellent game, I think we will see a lot of chances, and because this is such a big derby, I don’t think any player will be rested. I see goals on both sides.
