Jamaica and the United States face off on Tuesday in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier at the National Stadium Independence Park. The United States has won the last four games against Jamaica. In October, the United States won 2-0.
Jamaica currently sits in sixth place in the standings having picked up six points. Jamaica hasn’t looked terrible, they have just had issues closing out wins. In the last game against El Salvador, they played to a 1-1 draw. Michail Antonio scored a goal in the 82nd minute and it looked like they might pick up the three key points. In the 90th minute though, they gave up a goal and could only escape with one point. When they faced off with the USA in October they could only manage one shot on goal, and that type of production isn’t going to be enough in this game. Jamaica needs to put some shots on goal early and put the USA on their back heel.
On the other side of this matchup is the United States who sit in the top spot having picked up 14 points. The United States is riding high coming into this game having beat Mexico 2-0 in the last game. Christian Pulisic scored the first goal in the 74th minute and Weston McKenzie added another one in the 85th minute. Miles Robinson did pick up a red card in the 85th minute which means he won’t go in this game. This is a team that has a ton of confidence and it starts with their defense finding success. If the defense is strong again they should have no issue coming away with the victory.
The United States has all the confidence heading into this one, and they are going to continue their success in this game. Look for Jamaica to have issues getting shots on goal and this game will be an easy win for the visiting team. Back the United States -1.5.
