Juventus is hosting Napoli at Allianz Stadium in a derby match of round 20 in the Italian Serie A. Juventus is on a nice streak right now, they are in good form, but they are still not scoring a lot of goals. Napoli has lost the top of the table, they have only 2 wins in their last 7 games, and they are also not scoring a lot of goals as of late.

After a disastrous start to the season, Juventus has somehow woken up, and they are now in solid 5th place with 34 points, but their title dreams are over. Defensively, Juventus is still one of the best teams in the league, and that is not their problem, but the lack of offense certainly is. Juventus has conceded only 17 goals, and while these 27 goals they scored seem like a lot, trust me, it’s not. Dybala and Morata are sharing the leading goalscorer title with 5 goals each so far this season, while Dybala also added 3 assists. There are quite a few covid cases in Juventus, but their best starting lineup is available. I know it’s still early to say this, but I just can’t see Juventus getting to the top 3 in Serie A this season, and honestly, they don’t deserve it.

Despite all the bad results lately, Napoli is still the best defensive team in the league with 14 conceded goals, and normally, that would be great, but their offense is not producing enough to support this great defense. With 39 points, Napoli is now in 3rd place in the standings. Ounas is the only player Napoli is missing because of the African Nations Cup, but Lozano, Elmas, Koulialy, ad Osimhen are all injured. The biggest problem for Napoli right now is they are losing Insigne, their icon, their captain, and probably their best player, to Toronto of all teams. Insigne’s contract is expiring this summer, and Toronto is offering him a lot of money. Insigne would finish the season in Napoli, but he would go to the MLS in the summer. Osimhe, Mertens, Ruiz, and Zielinski are the leading goalscorers for Napoli so far this season with 5 goals each. We all know Napoli can score a ton of goals for fun, but that has disappeared from their game lately, and it might cost them the title in Serie A.

This could turn out to be a great game with a lot of goals, or it could turn out to be a dud. Neither team is scoring a lot, and despite a better form, I don’t think Juventus can win this game. I see a draw in this one.
