Lazio and Juventus are clashing at Stadio Olimpico in round 13 of the Italian Serie A. Lazio is doing a solid job so far this season, and they are undefeated in their last 3 games. Juventus has ended their slump, but then they went on a 2-game losing streak, just so they could beat Fiorentina and Zenit after that.

Lazio is in 5th place in the Serie A standings with 21 points, and their offense has been really good with 25 scored goals. Defensively, Lazio hasn’t been doing well, and they have conceded 19 goals already. In the Europa League, Lazio is in 2nd place in their group, but they could still lose that spot in case of a bad result next week. In their last Serie A game, Lazio was playing against Salernitana at home, and they were the dominant team with 61% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and a high 91% of the correct passes. Everything was going well for Lazio in this game, and they have deservedly won that match 3-0. Immobile is the leading goalscorer for Lazio with 10 goals, but even after the injury list was updated, he is still on it. Pedro has added 4 goals for Lazio so far this season. Lazio is not a great team, but they are a good team, a dangerous team, and if they are able to improve their defense in January, they could be a threat to the top 4 in Serie A.

Juventus is now on a 2-game winning streak, but they are still struggling in the attacking end, at least in Serie A. in the Champions League, Juventus is in 1st place of their group, they have scored 9 goals, and their defense has been outstanding with only 2 conceded goal. Even if they lose to Chelsea next week, Juventus will qualify to the next stage, the only question is from which spot.  In the Serie A standings, Juventus is far away from the top, in 8th place with 18 points, and even though they have improved, they still don’t look like one of the best teams in the league. Dybala is the leading goalscorer for Juventus with 3 goals, but he is still questionable for this game. In their last game against Fiorentina, Juventus has had 50% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 84% of the correct passes. This wasn’t an exciting game, but in the 91st minute, Juventus has scored a goal, and they have won this game 1-0. I know there is still a lot of time, but I honestly don’t see Juventus being a threat to Napoli, Milan, or Inter in the title run this season, but they could do something in the Champions League, maybe.

This will be a tough game, a battle, and I see a lot of fouls and yellow cards in this game. I don’t see it going over 2.5, and I don’t think either team has the edge over the other one, which is why I will take the draw.
