Leicester City vs. Liverpool 12/28/21 Premier League Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Leicester City and Liverpool face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown on Tuesday at King Power Stadium. These two teams just faced off on December 22nd and the two teams played to a 3-3 draw during regulation time. On penalty kicks, Liverpool was able to advance in the EFL Cup.

Even though they sit in 10th place they might be the most disappointing team so far this season. In the last game against Manchester City, the defense was awful, giving up six goals. Leicester City did score three goals in the game and did at one point get within a goal, but it’s been the defense that has let them down all season. Leicester City has scored 30 goals total while their defense has given up 33 goals. Jamie Vardy has been the top player this season for Leicester City scoring nine goals and adding an assist. 

On the other side of this matchup is Liverpool who currently sit in 2nd place in the standings having picked up 41 points. Liverpool didn’t play a weekend game so their last game was that victory over Leicester City. The last Premier League game was against Tottenham on the 19th, and they played to a 2-2 draw in that game. Liverpool has scored 50 goals total while their defense has given up 15 goals. Mohamed Salah has been the top player for Liverpool scoring 15 goals and adding nine assists. Diogo Jota has also been a key member of the team scoring 10 goals and adding another assist. 

When these two teams just faced off there was no shortage of scoring and it’s pretty clear Leicester City’s defense has struggled against everyone. I expect both offenses are going to find offensive success, and this game is going to be higher scoring. I don’t think there will be six goals scored again, but the over is going to cash.
