Manchester City vs. Burnley 10/16/21 Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Manchester City and Burnley face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at City of Manchester Stadium. When these two teams faced off in February of 2021, Manchester City won 2-0. 

Manchester City comes into this game sitting in third place in the standings having picked up 14 points. Manchester City has found success this season, but in two of the last three games they have played to a draw. Manchester City’s last game was against Liverpool, and it was Kevin De Bruyne who scored a goal in the 8th minute to seal the 2-2- draw. Manchester City is still a good offensive team but they aren’t as dominant as years past. Manchester City has scored 14 goals total while the defense has given up only three goals. Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres have been the top two players for Manchester City scoring two goals. 

On the other side of this matchup is Burnley who sits in 18th place in the standings having picked up three points. Burnley has played to a couple of straight draws, but they need to start winning games if they want to get out of the relegation zone.. In the last game against Norwich City, they had 57 percent of the possession, but they couldn’t find the back of the net and that led to the loss. Burnley has scored five goals total while the defense has given up 11 goals total. No one on Burnley has scored more than a goal, and if they want to win this game the offense will need to be better. 

Burnley knows winning this game will be tough, and I expect them to take a very defensive approach to this game.. This isn’t the same Manchester City offense as years past, and they will only score a goal or two in this game. Burnley won’t find the back of the net and the under will cash.
