Manchester City vs. Everton 12/31/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Manchester City and Everton face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Etihad Stadium. When these two teams faced off on February 26th it was Man City that secured the 1-0 victory. 

Manchester City currently sits in second place in the standings having picked up 35 points. Manchester City faced off against Leeds United on Wednesday and they were able to secure a 3-1 victory. Erling Haaland had another big game scoring in the 51st and 64th minute. Manchester City had 69 percent of the possession and nine shots on target. Julian Alvarez is back with the team from the World Cup but it’s hard to believe that they are going to start him here. Ruben Dias is dealing with a thigh injury, and he’s not going to be able to go in this game. In this game, Manchester City is going to need to score the first goal early to really put the pressure on Everton. 

On the other side of this matchup is Everton who sits in 17th place in the standings having picked up 14 points. Everton has lost four games in a row across all contests. In the last game against the Wolves they gave up a goal in the 95th minute and that led to the 2-1 defeat. Yerry Mina did score in the 7th minute for Everton to take the lead. Everton had 59 percent of the possession and six shots on target. Mina did get injured in the last game and it’s not looking good for his chances to play in this game. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still dealing with a thigh injury and it doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

Everton allows team to have way too many shots against them and now they have to face a Manchester City team that is elite at creating quality scoring chances. Look for Manchester CIty to have at least 10 shots on goal in this game, and at least three of those are going to find the back of the net. Back Manchester City -1.5 to cash here.
