Manchester City and Liverpool are clashing at Etihad Stadium in a derby match of round 32 in the English Premier League. City is at the top of the table right now, but this is the game that could decide the champion this season. Liverpool is playing well right now, they are scoring goals, but they have a tough task ahead in this game.
City is on a 3-game winning streak right now, and they have also won their last Champions League game earlier this week. In their last 8 games, City has won 6 games, while 2 ended in a draw, and those 2 draws might cost them the title. With 70 scored goals and 18 conceded goals, City is the best team in the league overall, and if they win the title, they will deserve it. De Bruyne, Mahrez, and Sterling have each scored 10 goals for City so far this season. Jesus has added 7 assists. There is only one injury in City right now, and it’s an important one. City is a fantastic team, they are dominating the possession in pretty much every game, but I would love to see a bit more efficient offense from them.
Liverpool is now on a 5-game winning streak, they have scored 10 goals during that streak, and they have pretty much secured their spot in the Champions League semifinals after beating Benfica 1-3 on the road. Salah is the leading goalscorer for Liverpool with 20 goals, but he hasn’t been at his best lately, and he is struggling the most in Liverpool right now. Luckily for Liverpool, Jota is in good form with 14 scored goals, while Mane has added 12 goals. Alexander-Arnold has 11 assists, while Salah and Robertson have added 10 assists each. The schedule is decent for Liverpool until the end of the season, they do have some tough games ahead, but if there is a team that shouldn’t be scared of anyone, it’s Liverpool. As far as the Champions League goes, Liverpool is definitely one of the favorites, but I think they will need Salah in good form to win it.
This could turn out to be a very exciting or very boring game. With this possibly being a game that could decide the champion, I don’t think either team will be too eager to attack too much and too fast. I’m going with the draw here.
