Manchester City vs. Manchester United 10/2/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Manchester City and Manchester United face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at Etihad Stadium. When these two teams faced off on March 6th it was Manchester city that secured the 4-1 victory. 

Manchester City currently sits in second place in the standings having picked up 17 points. Manchester City’s last game came against the Wolves, and the offense scored three goals in that game and led to the easy victory. Jake Grealish opened up the scoring in the 1st minute, and they never looked back on the way to the victory. Man City had 60 percent of the possession and seven shots on target. Aymeric Laporte is coming back from a knee injury, and he’s expected to be able to go in this game. It’s unclear if he will start, but I would expect to at least see him coming off the bench. John Stones went off during the international break with an injury, and he won’t be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Manchester United, who sits in 5th place in the standings having picked up five points. The last game in the Premier League was on September 4th, and they were able to win the game 3-1 over Arsenal. Since that game, they have played two Europa League games. Against Real Sociedad, they were defeated 1-0 and in the last game against Sheriff, they were able to secure the 2-0 victory. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have both been in training this week and there is an expectation that both players will be able to go in this game. 

Manchester United scored three goals in the last game against Arsenal, but I don’t think they will be finding the same amount of success in this game. I don’t trust the back end of the Manchester United defense, and this is going to be a very long game as they try to slow down Manchester City. This game is going to be a long game for the visiting team. Back Manchester City -1.5 to cash.
