Manchester United vs. Arsenal 9/4/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Manchester United and Arsenal face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at Old Trafford. When these two teams faced off on April 23rd, it was Arsenal that secured the 3-1 victory. 

Manchester United comes into this game sitting in 8th place having picked up 9 points. Manchester United has won three games in a row, and each of the last two games has been a 1-0 victory. Jadon Sancho scored in the 23rd minute against Leicester City and that was enough to secure the victory. Manchester United only had two shots on goal, but it was enough to secure the win. Cristiano Ronaldo has been coming off the bench, but there is some chatter that he could get the start here. If he does continue to come off the bench, that is quite the luxury for this team. 

On the other side of this matchup is Arsenal, and they have had a perfect start to the season, picking up 15 points. In the last game against Aston Villa, Arsenal scored two goals, and they looked dominant. Two games ago against Fulham. Arsenal also looked excellent, winning 2-1. Arsenal has scored 13 goals total, while their defense has given up four goals total. Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Martin Ødegaard have all scored three goals so far this season. Arsenal are a bit banged up heading into this game and Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are expected to be out for a while. Albert Sambi Lokonga looked good in the midweek game and should draw another start here. 

Arsenal has played well to start the season but at some point, the injuries have to catch up to them. They are going on the road for a tough game, and I don’t see their offense finding a ton of success against Manchester United. Look for Manchester United to score a couple of goals and that will be enough for Manchester United to get the job done. Back Manchester United on the money line.
