Napoli and Sassuolo are clashing at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in round 35 of the Italian Serie A. Napoli have pretty much knocked themselves out of the title race, and all they can do now is play the best they can for the rest of the season. Sassuolo is still scoring goals, but their defense is still really bad, and they will not be qualifying for Europe.

Napoli hasn’t won any of their last 3 games while losing 2 of those 3 games. Napoli’s latest loss was against Empoli, which was a game they should have won, and they were leading 0-2. Even though Napoli is still in 3^rd place with 67 points, they are now 7 points away from the top of the table, and I just don’t see them getting there. Offensively, Napoli has been decent, inconsistent in the second part of the season, but overall, they were solid. Osimhen is leading Napoli with 12 goals, while Insigne has 10 goals. Insigne is leaving Napoli at the end of the season, and unfortunately for him, he will leave without a trophy. There are no injuries in Napoli at the moment. Maybe this game will be good for Napoli, but they have gambled away all of their chances, and all they can play for is to stay in 3^rd place.

Sassuolo has now lost 3 of their last 4 games, but they are still scoring a lot of goals, even against the best teams in Serie A. as I’ve mentioned, Sassuolo will not be qualifying for Europe, and they are now in 10^th place with 46 points. I mentioned Sassuolo’s defense a lot, and I should because it has been among the worst in the league this season. If Sassuolo can keep their offense for next season, and if they could just slightly improve their defense, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Of the 59 goals Sassuolo has scored, Berardi has 14 to his name, while Scamacca has added 13 goals. Raspadori has added 10 goals. Berardi has also added 13 assists. With 4 games left to be played this season, Sassuolo is 10 points away from the Conference League, which is within reach, but they would need other teams not to win their games, and that is highly unlikely. I think Sassuolo could have done better, but I think they are satisfied with their season.

Napoli will go for the win to redeem themselves, while Sassuolo will certainly come out to play. I think this is going to be another fun game with a ton of chances, and of course, goals on both sides.
