Newcastle United vs. Chelsea 11/12/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Newcastle United and Chelsea face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at St. James Park. When these two teams faced off on March 13th it was Chelsea that secured the 1-0 victory. 

Newcastle comes into this game sitting in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 27 points. Last Sunday, Newcastle faced off against Southampton, and they were able to secure a 4-1 victory. Newcastle only had 44 percent of the possession and four shots on target, but they scored four goals. On Wednesday, they played an EFL Cup game against Crystal Palace, and they won that game in a shootout.  Alexander Isak, Ryan Fraser, Matt Ritchie, Emil Krafth, and Paul Dummett are all dealing with injuries and won’t be able to go in this game. Callum Wilson is also dealing with an illness, and it’s not going to be any better in this game. 

Chelsea comes into this game sitting in 7th place in the group having picked up 21 points. Last Sunday, Chelsea faced off against Arsenal, and that game ended in a 1-0 loss. Chelsea had 44 percent of the possession and one shot on target. In a midweek EFL Cup against Manchester City, they were defeated 2-0. Chelsea were out shot 9-5. N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, and Reece James are all dealing with inuries and won’t be available to play in this game. Kepa Arrizabalaga are dealing with a foot injury and won’t be able to go in this game. 

Newcastle has been quite impressive heading into this game, and I think the success will continue here. I just don’t trust this Chelsea offense, and that is going to be the difference as Newcastle is going to get the job done. Newcastle might only score one goal, but it will be the difference.
