OGC Nice and FC Nantes are clashing at Allianz Riviera in the Coupe de France finals. Nice a good team, they are solid defensively, and they are on a 2-game winning streak. Nantes has also been in decent form lately, but they are not as good as Nice is, but they will need to step up in the finals.

Nice has kept 2 clean sheets in their last 2 games, but they have scored only 2 goals in those 2 games, which was enough for 2 wins. In the Ligue 1 standings, Nice is now in 5th place, but they are only 2 points away from the Europa League spot, which is where they would like to be. As I’ve mentioned, Nice is not scoring a lot, but they are also not conceding a lot, less than 1 goal per game on average. Nice has only a couple of injuries, but they will be fine because they are playing at home in this game. Kluivert, Delort, and Gouiri have each scored 2 goals so far in Coupe de France. There are quite a few good players in Nice, their defense is outstanding, and I think they are good enough to get the win here.

Nantes is out of time to get to either of the European spots, but if they end this season in the middle of the table, I think they can be happy. At the moment, Nantes is in 9th place with 51 points, they have scored 50 goals, while they have conceded 43 goals which aren’t bad for a team in the middle of the table. In their last 5 games, Nantes has only 1 win, but the good news is they have lost only 1 of those 5 games. As you can see, Nantes’ defense is not good, they are leaking from all sides, and this will be a very tough game for them. Blas is Nantes’ leading goalscorer in the Coupe de France with 4 goals. Nantes would have had a solid chance to win this if they were playing at a neutral location, and technically they are, but not really. Nantes will be surrounded by angry Nice fans, and that will make this game so much harder for them.

The trends are pretty evenly split here, but I give the advantage to Nice here. Yes, this is the finals, and both teams will step up, but Nice is the home team, they are in better form, and they have a lot better defense. I’m going with Nice in this one.
