Osasuna is welcoming Real Sociedad to Estadio El Sadar in round 13 of the Spanish LaLiga. Osasuna has been doing an excellent job this season, and they are in solid 8th place at the moment with 19 points. Real Sociedad is still not giving up the top spot, and they have 25 points this season and only 1 loss.
Osasuna is without a win in their last 3 games, and they are in a bit of a slump, but they have only 1 loss in those 3 games. In their last game, Osasuna was playing against Sevilla on the road, and they have had only 36% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 62% of the correct passes. This wasn’t a great game from Osasuna, and they didn’t deserve a point, which they didn’t get. Osasuna has lost this game 2-0. Osasuna is a solid defensive team, but they have gotten a bit sloppy, and unfortunately for them, their offense wasn’t able to pick up the pace at the moment. Torres has scored 2 goals and added 2 assists for Osasuna so far this season. Osasuna is a solid team, but I don’t think they are good enough to reach the Europa League spot, but they could definitely end up in the Conference League if they can keep playing like this.
Sociedad has scored 17 goals so far, which isn’t bad, but their defense has been outstanding with only 10 conceded goals, one of the best in the league. Sociedad was playing in the Europa League earlier this week, and they have tied their game against Sturm. Real Sociedad has lost only 1 game this season in all competitions, and that was against Barcelona in round 1 of LaLiga. In their last LaLiga game against Bilbao at home, Real Sociedad has had 54% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 85% of the correct passes. As expected, this was a tough game, but Sociedad got ahead in the 58th minute from a penalty spot. Unfortunately for Sociedad, they conceded a goal in the 91st minute, and the final score was 1-1. Sociedad is playing well in both competitions, but as the season goes on, it will be harder and harder for them to compete in both, and I think they will need to make a decision on what to focus on. For now, Sociedad is solid defensively, they are scoring enough, and I hope it will last.
Sociedad hasn’t lost any of their last 15 games, they haven’t lost any of their last 7 games o the road, while the last home win for Osasuna against Sociedad was back in 2012. I think this could be a fun game to watch, but it could easily happen we don’t see many goals. Yes, Sociedad is better, but Osasuna will not just give up. I’m taking the draw.
