Panama comes into this game sitting in last place in the group having picked up zero points. Panama has looked awful to start the World Cup and the offense has been the biggest issue. In the first game against Brazil they were defeated 4-0 and in the last game and against Jamaica they were defeated 1-0. Panama had 53 percent of the possession and four shots on target, but they couldn’t find the back of the net. Panama is expected to play Emily Cedeno, Wendy Natis, Yomira Pinzon, Carina Baltrip-Reyes, and Katherine Castillo in the backend of the defense and they are going to need to be good here. Aldrith Quintero came off the bench in the last game, but it’s expected that she will move back into the starting lineup here.

On the other side of this matchup is France who sits in 1st place in the group having picked up four points. In the first game against Jamaica, they played to a 0-0 draw. In the last game against Brazil, France scored two goals and that was enough for the victory. It was Eugenie Le Sommer that scored in the 17th minute. It was a goal in the 83rd minute by Wendie Renard that was the game winner. Eve Perisset, Kenza Dali and Selma Bacha all started in the last game and it’s expected that they are all going to start again here.

This Panama offense isn’t great, and they are going to struggle to get the offense going here. I also don’t expect their defense is going to be elite, but I don’t see them giving up more than three goals here. Look for a 2-0 or 3-0 type of game and with Panama not finding the back of the net, this game is going to stay under the total.
