PSG is welcoming AS Monaco to Parc des Princes in a derby match of round 18 of the French Ligue 1. PSG is undefeated in their last 4 games, but they are not as dominant in Ligue 1 as they were at the start of the season. Monaco has been great in the Europa League, their form is on the rise, ad they are undefeated in their last 8 games.

PSG is at the top of the table in France, and even though they have been sloppy as of late, I just don’t see them dropping enough points to lose that top spot. The situation is far from ideal in PSG with all that ego they have on their team, but when you put Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar together, you gotta admit they are good, but only in the attacking end. Defensively, these three players rarely help, and that is the biggest problem for this team. Mbappe has scored 8 goals and added 9 assists for PSG so far, while Messi is still warming up. Neymar is injured, and he will not be playing again this year. PSG has advanced past the group stage in the Champions League, but with a defense like this, they won’t get far.

Monaco is slowly climbing the standings in Ligue 1, and they are now in 8th place with 26 points. Monaco has also scored 27 goals so far this season, but they have conceded 20, and their defense has started to improve too late for them to stay in the title race. Ben Yedder is the leading goalscorer for Monaco so far this season with 9 goals. Unfortunately for Monaco, their injury list is once again growing, and Fabregas, Diatta, and Badiashille are all on it, while Volland is suspended because of the yellow cards. Monaco has also done a great job in the Europa League where they have won their group, and they have advanced to the next stage. Monaco has 3 more games to play before their Christmas break, and they need to face PSG and Rennais, and those are two tough opponents, but Monaco is in solid form, and I believe they can win some points in those 2 games.

The trends are pretty even here, and Monaco has had success against PSG on the road in the past. PSG is still undefeated at home this season, and I think it will stay that way, but I see Monaco getting on the scoreboard here.
