Germany is welcoming Portugal to Allianz Arena in round 2 of Group F in the Euro Cup 2021. Portugal was struggling with finishing their chances in their first game, but all that matters is they got the win. Germany was dominant in their first game, but it’s clear they are missing a striker that can score a goal from nothing.

With their win against Hungary, Portugal is now at the top of their group, and they have the best goal difference. In their game against Hungary, Portugal was dominant with an impressive 70% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and a high 89% of the correct passes. It took a long, long time for Portugal to score a goal, but once they did it in the 84th minute, Portugal has scored 2 more goals, and they have won that match 0-3. Ronaldo has scored 2 goals for Portugal in this game, and he is now the leading goalscorer for Portugal. Guerreiro has added 1 goal, while Rafa Silva has an assist. Portugal with and without Ronaldo are two different teams, and in my opinion, the one without Ronaldo is better. Portugal has the quality to get far, but we will see if they will keep struggling with scoring goals.

Germany now has 1 win in their last 4 games, and they are struggling with scoring goals even more than Portugal does. In their game against France, Germany has had 62% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and a solid 89% of the correct passes. Germany was dominant, they were playing well, they created some good chances, but Germany wasn’t able to score a goal, at least not in their opponent’s net. Germany has lost this game 1-0 by an own goal scored by Hummels. Germany is missing a striker, and even though they have some great players on their roster, I don’t think they will get far without a striker. I think Germany would have a tough time in any group, especially in this group of death, but with a little bit of luck, Germany might just get a good result. Some changes in the starting lineup are expected for this game, and coach Low will need to find the best solution in the attacking end, and I think he will.

The trends are on Germany’s side in this matchup, and even though Portugal has beaten Hungary, their defense wasn’t playing well. Germany was dominating the best team in the world, and I think their struggles with scoring goals must end sometime. Portugal will score a goal here because they are too good not to, but I see Germany winning this game at home.
