PSG is welcoming Olympique de Marseille to Parc des Princes in round 32 of the French Ligue 1. PSG has been at the top of the table since the season started, they are the best team in the league, but that is all they are. Marseille is in second place right now, but Rennais is just 3 points behind them, and they better keep winning games.
PSG is now on a 2-game winning streak, they have scored 11 goals in those 2 games while conceding 1 goal in each game. Offensively, PSG is a really strong team, the best in the league as I’ve mentioned, but that was nowhere to be seen in the Champions League. PSG has scored 70 goals so far this season, and Mbappe has been their best player with 20 goals and 14 assists, while Neymar has added 10 goals. Messi has 13 assists, and this was probably his worst season in years. Five of PSG’s players are injured, but it doesn’t really matter since they have already won the title. Despite winning the Ligue 1, this season was a disappointment for PSG as they were aiming for the Champions League title, but maybe next year.
Marseille has caught a fantastic form as of late, they are scoring a lot, they are defending well, and they have qualified for the Conference League semifinals. Marseille is now on an 8-game winning streak during which they have looked pretty impressive, while in their last 2 games they have kept 2 clean sheets. Thanks to this amazing run, Marseille is still in 2nd place in Ligue 1, which is the Champions League spot. Marseille’s offense is solid this season, but their defense is the best in the league, and if they have been playing this well for most of the season, they would have been a lot close to PSG. Payet has been leading Marseille with 10 goals and 8 assists this season, while Under has added 9 goals. There are a few injured players, but Marseille has decent replacements. I think Marseille is gunning for that Conference League title, but Leicester, Roma, and Feyenoord are still in it, and they are all good teams. In their current form, Marseille is very hard to beat, and they are facing PSG at the right time.
PSG is still undefeated at home this season, and they are scoring a lot of goals lately, but Marseille is in outstanding form, and they look pretty scary right now. I think this game might get rough, but I see goals on both sides.
