Qatar vs. Senegal 11/25/22 World Cup Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Qatar and Senegal face off on Friday in a Group A World Cup soccer showdown at Al Thumama Stadium. 

Qatar currently sits tied for third in the group, having picked up zero points. There is a ton of pressure surrounding this Qatar team, and in the first game, they really struggled. Qatar faced off against Ecuador, and they really don’t put up much of an attack as they were defeated 2-0. The two goals were given up in the first 31 minutes. Qatar had 47 percent of the possession, but ended up with zero shots on goal. Qatar goalkeeper Saad Al Sheeb really struggled in the first game, and it wouldn’t be shocking if they decided to make a change in goal. Karim Boudiaf is also on a yellow card, and he could move to the bench here. In this game, if Qatar wants to win they are going to need good defense, but they are also going to need to take some chances with the offense. 

On the other side of this matchup is Senegal, who are tied for third in the group, having picked up zero points. Senegal opened up their World Cup against the Netherlands, and they ended up being defeated 2-0. They actually out shot the Netherlands 4-3, but they didn’t have quality chances, and ended up losing. Abdou Diallo had to leave the last game because of cramps, but it’s expected that he will be back and ready to go in this game. Cheikhou Kouyate is dealing with a muscle injury, though, and he’s not going to be able to go in this game. Senegal knows they need to push numbers forward, and I would expect they are going to really try to put the pressure on whoever is in goal. 

Senegal is better than Ecuador, and Qatar is going to struggle against them too. It doesn’t matter who is going to start in goal, I think that Qatar is going to really struggle to defend, no matter who is in goal, and this game is going to be one that is an easy win for Senegal. Back Senegal -1.5.
