With this amazing streak, Leipzig has climbed to 4^th place with 40 points, but they need to climb one more spot if they want to go straight to the Champions League next season. Leipzig is a bit weaker in the attacking end than the top 3 teams, but they have still scored a solid 50 goals in 24 games. Leipzig’s defense is also pretty solid, and they have conceded only 28 goals. In the Europa League, Leipzig should have played against Spartak Moscow, but since they got kicked out, Leipzig is off next week. Nkunku is still the best player for Leipzig with 14 goals and 7 assists. Leipzig is coming into this game without any injuries and in great form, and I think that will be crucial here.

Freiburg is also in good form, and they are constantly improving, but it’s hard to imagine they will reach that form from the start of the season. during their 3-game winning streak, Freiburg has scored 7 goals, while they conceded only 2 goals, and they were even able to keep a clean sheet. Freiburg was also playing in the DFB Pokal earlier this week, where they beat Bochum, and they have qualified to the semifinals. Overall, I think Freiburg can be really happy with their season so far, and they still have time to reach the Champions League, but I think that the Europa League is close to their quality at the moment. If Freiburg continues to invest in their team, if they can keep improving their game, I think it won’t be long before they do get to the Champions League.

Leipzig has improved by a lot since that terrible start, while Freiburg has been a bit of a letdown. Both teams are playing really well right now, and I think we will see goals on both sides, but Leipzig is the better team right now.
