Atletico is also solid in the attacking end, but their defense is not nearly as good as it should be, and it almost cost them the spot in the Champions League.

Real Madrid is now on a 9-game winning streak, they have beaten Sociedad in LaLiga last weekend, and they have also beaten Inter in the Champions League earlier this week. Real Marid has won their Champions League group, and they are now at the top of the LaLiga table with 39 points, 37 scored goals, and 15 conceded goals. Offensively, Real Madrid is the best team in the league, and their defense is also very good with only 15 conceded goals. Benzema has scored 12 goals and added 7 assists for Real Marid this season, while Vinicius added 10 goals. These two have been Real’s best players this season, but we often overlook the performance from Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro in the midfield, and those three have been the best midfield trio for years. Real has a few injuries, but nothing their backup players can’t handle.

Atletico is solid offensively, more than solid, and they have scored 27 goals, but they have conceded 16 goals already, and for a team that prides itself on the defensive end, that is not good. Atletico needed a win against Porto in the Champions League earlier this week, which they got, but they also needed for Milan not to beat Liverpool, which they didn’t, and thanks to that Atletico has jumped to second place and advanced to the next stage. In LaLiga, Atletico is now in 4^th place with 29 points, which is 10 points less than Real Madrid, but that could easily change in this game. Suarez is the leading goalscorer for Atletico with 7 goals so far. I know Atletico’s defense is bad while their offense is their strongest side this season, but that was what Atletico needed to finally defeat Real Madrid. Atletico has already beaten Barcelona this season, they are now in good mood, and if they are ever going to beat Real, it will be now.

I know Real Madrid is on the streak, but that streak has to end soon. Atletico has been hot and cold so far this season, but that win in the Champions League has boosted their confidence. As I’ve mentioned, if they are ever going to beat Real Madrid it will be now, and I will give it a shot.
