Roma and Atalanta are clashing at Stadio Olimpico in round 28 of the Italian Serie A. Roma have been very inconsistent this season, but they are still a good team that can score goals. Atalanta seems to be finding their way back to their high goalscoring ways, but they need to do it consistently.

After being without a win for 4 games, Roma has finally beaten someone, and it was Spezia, with a penalty kick goal in the last minute of the game. Roma was dominant in that game, but as I’ve mentioned, they have been very inconsistent, especially in the attacking end. With 44 points, Roma is now in 6th place, they have scored a solid 45 goals, while they conceded 34 goals. I know Spezia is not the greatest team out there, but Roma keeping the clean sheet in that game was a nice morale boost. In the Conference League, Roma will be playing against Vitesse next week, on the road. Abraham is the leading goalscorer for Roma with 12 goals so far. Pellegrini has added 6 goals and 6 assists. Spinazzola and Afena-Gyan are injured. I mean, Roma is a great team, they have the talent, they have everything they need to be successful, but they just can’t do it this season.

Atalanta has 3 wins in their last 4 games, while they are now on a 2-game winning streak during which they haven’t conceded a single goal. Atalanta has beaten Olympiacos on the road 0-3, while they destroyed Sampdoria at home 4-0 in the Serie A game last weekend. With 47 points, Atalanta is now in 5th place, and they are one of the best offensive teams in the leading with 50 scored goals. Pasalic is a surprising goalscoring leader in Atalanta with 9 goals and 5 assists, while Zapata also has 9 goals. Ilicic and Zapata are injured, while Malinovskyi is absent. Muriel is still questionable. In the Europa League, Atalanta is hosting Leverkusen next week, and they have gotten into good form just in time for that matchup, but I’m still not convinced they are over their problems. Atalanta is one of those teams that are not spending a lot of money, but they are still pretty successful.

I think this will be a very exciting game because both teams could use a win, but I think it could go either way. At the moment, Atalanta is in slightly better form, but with Roma being the home team, it could go their way. I will stick to goals in this one.
