Sevilla and Manchester City face off on Tuesday in a Group 6 UEFA Champions League Soccer showdown at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Sevilla FC has really struggled to start the season, and they have only picked up one point in four games in La Liga. They currently sit in 16th place in the standings. In the last game against Barcelona, they only had 45 percent of the possession and four shots on goal. They allowed Barcelona to finish with 18 total shots, and they gave up three goals. Sevilla has scored three goals this season, while they have given up eight goals. The three goals have been scored by three different players. Sevilla’s defense is really short-handed, and they are still without Marcao and Karim Rekik. Kasper Dolberg came off the bench of the weekend and could get the start here.
On the other side of this matchup is Manchester City, who sits in second place in the Premier League having picked up 14 points. Manchester City has had a nice season, but they haven’t been as dominant as years past. In the last game against Aston Villa, they had a 1-0 lead, but they gave up a goal in the 74th minute and that led to the 1-1 draw. Manchester City has scored 20 goals this season, while their defense has given up six goals. Erling Haaland is playing like the best player in the world, and he has scored 10 goals. Aymeric Laporte won’t be playing in this game and Kyle Walker could also be out after he left the game against Aston Villa because of an injury.
Sevilla’s defense has been a problem heading into this game, and it’s not going to get any better heading into this game. Manchester City is an elite offensive team, and they are going to have no issue running up the score against this defense. It wouldn’t be shocking if Haaland scored a hat trick by themselves. Look for Manchester City to win this game with ease. Back Manchester City -2.5.
