Southampton and Arsenal face off on Tuesday in an English Premier League showdown at St. Mary’s Stadium. 

Southampton currently sits in 10th place in the standings having picked up 29 points so far this season. Southampton has won their last two games in the FA Cup, but their last game in the Premier League, the offense couldn’t get anything going against Leicester City and that led to a 2-0 loss. In that game, Southampton had only three shots on goal, and that led to the loss. Southampton has put 26 goals in the back of the net while their defense has given up 21 goals. The defense hasn’t been awful, but at times the offense has really let them down. Danny Igns has been the best player for Southampton putting seven goals in the back of the net. On the other side of this matchup is Arsenal who currently sit in 11th place in the standings and they have picked up 27 points so far this season. Arsenal have to be disappointed with the way they have played this season, but they have to feel good about the way they played in the last game. Arsenal put three goals in the back of the net and that was enough to come away with the victory. Pierre-Emerick Aubeameyang was the star of the show putting two goals in the back of the net. Arsenal on the season has put 23 goals in the back of the net while their defense has given up 19 goals total. Alexandre Lacazette has been the best player for Arsenal finishing the game with seven goals. 

I expect Southampton’s defense has really let them down and that will let them down in this game. Look for Arsenal to put a few goals in the back of the net, and that will lead to Arsenal coming away with a victory in this game.
