Spezia is hosting Milan at Orogel Stadium-Dino Manuzzi in round 6 of the Italian Serie A. Spezia is a decent team, they will be fighting to stay in Serie A, and they have won only 1 of their last 5 games. Milan has been excellent so far this season, they are undefeated in Serie A, and they are in 3rd place.
Spezia has scored a solid 7 goals so far this season, but their defense just hasn’t been good enough, and they have conceded 13 goals in 5 games. With only 4 points, Spezia is now in 17th place. Gyasi and Bastoni are the leading goalscorers for Spezia with 2 goals each. Maggiore has added 2 assists. The injury list is very long for Spezia, and even though some of the players may be ready, Spezia will still miss a lot of depth. In their last game against Juventus at home, Spezia has had 40% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and 79% of the correct passes. Spezia was losing 0-1, but then they turned the game around in the 49th minute. Unfortunately for Spezia, they have conceded 2 goals until the end, and they ended up losing this game 2-3. As expected, Spezia is close to the relegation zone, and they will spend most of the season here.
Milan is playing really well on both ends, and with 10 scored goals, only 2 conceded goals, and 13 points, Milan is now in 3rd place. After losing to Liverpool in round 1 of the Champions League, Milan will play against Atletico Madrid next week. As far as Serie A goes, Milan was hosting Venezia in their last game, and they were a much better team with 67% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and 88% of the correct passes. It took a while for Milan to score a goal, but they did it twice in the second half, and they ended up winning this game 2-0. Giroud, Leao, and Diaz have each scored 2 goals for Milan, while Rebic and Hernandez added 2 assists each. Milan is on their way back to the top of Serie A, and I think they will get there this season because they are playing well, they have a lot of quality, and they will get even better.
Spezia has beaten Milan at home last season, but I don’t see that happening here. Milan is on fire, they are playing great defensively, and I just don’t see Spezia creating a lot of chances here. I’m taking Milan and goals.
