Sweden was finding plenty of success in the World Cup until they faced off against Spain in their semfinal matchup. Sweden’s defense was playing pretty well until they broke down twice late, and that led to the defeat. They gave up a goal in the 81st minute, but the offense responded with a goal by Rebecka Blomqvist in the 88th minute. The defense quickly gave it right back though giving up a goal a minute later. Sweden is expected to start the exact same lineup they have in the last couple of games here. In this game, Sweden is going to need to be the team that scores first.

Australia looked like they might end up being a Cinderella story winning at home, but in the last game they faced off against England, and they ended up being too much. They gave up a goal in the 36th minute. Australia did end up answering with a goal by Sam Kerr in the 63rd minute. The defense gave up two goals late though, and that led to the defeat. Australia had 41 percent of the possession and four shots on target.  Alanna Kennedy is dealing with an illness and it’s not expected that he’s going to be able to go in this game.
