VfB Stuttgart vs. RB Leipzig 1/15/22 Bundesliga Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

VfB Stuttgart is hosting RB Leipzig at Mercedes Benz Arena in round 19 of the German Bundesliga. Stuttgart has had a really good game against Furth last weekend, but they couldn’t score a goal. Leipzig has destroyed Mainz at home, but they are still without a win on the road this season.

Stuttgart is now above the relegation zone, in 15^th place with 18 points, but that is the same number as Augsburg has, and there are a lot of games still left. Offensively, Stuttgart hasn’t been great with only 22 scored goals, and they can do better. Unfortunately for Stuttgart, their defense couldn’t pick up the slack, and it cost them a lot of points already. Even though Stuttgart has gotten some players back, they still have a lot of important players on the injury list. Mavropanos is the leading goalscorer for Stuttgart with only 4 goals, which only tells you that Stuttgart is desperate for Kalajdzic to get back in form. It will be a long and hard rest of the season for Stuttgart, harder than they expected, but I think they are good enough to stay in the league.

Leipzig is outstanding at home, but when playing on the road, they turn into a kitten. Leipzig is now in 9^th place with 25 points, 34 scored goals, and 23 conceded goals, and their home results are keeping them in the top half of the table. Leipzig also has a lot of injured and covid players, but they have had these problems for a while, and they got used to it. Nkunku has been the best player for Leipzig with 8 goals and 7 assists, while Silva added 7 goals. If Leipzig wants to have a shot at getting to one of the top 4 spots and qualify for the Champions League, they need to start winning points on the road, and that has to be right now. Leipzig isn’t far from the top 4, only 5 points away, but they won’t get there by winning only the home games. This is a good team, and I think they will bounce back, I just hope it won’t be too late.

Stuttgart is a solid team in bad form, while Leipzig is a solid team in solid form, at least at home. Stuttgart has had a good game last weekend, and because Leipzig is so terrible on the road, I think Stuttgart nets at least one in this game.
