Watford is hosting Arsenal at Vicarage Road in round 28 of the English Premier League. Watford has shown some signs of life, but they are still in the relegation zone, and they are still in serious danger. Arsenal is now on a 3-game winning streak, and they are getting close to the Champions League, which would be a massive accomplishment for this team.
Watford is one of the weakest teams in the league this season, they have one of the worst defenses in the league, while their offense is not producing much of anything this season. with 19 points, Watford is now in 19th place, but they are only 3 points away from safety. Watford has won only 1 game since November of last year, and they have already changed a few coaches this season. Dennis is the leading goalscorer for Watford with 9 goals and 5 assists. N’Koulou and Sarr are injured, while Etebo and Femina are still questionable. The rest of the season will be hard for Watford, but since there are a lot of bad teams in the EPL this season, I wouldn’t be surprised if they stay in the league.
As I’ve mentioned, Arsenal is on a 3-game winning streak, while they haven’t lost any of their last 4 games. Thanks to this great streak, Arsenal is now in 6th place with 45 points, which is only 2 points less than United in 4th place, and if Arsenal can keep playing this well, they will get there. Offensively, Arsenal is the weakest team of all of the top 6 teams, but their defense is solid with 27 conceded goals. Tomiyasu is injured, while Smith-Rowe is still questionable for Arsenal. If Smith-Rowe will not play in this game, that will be a huge blow because he is their leading goalscorer with 9 scored goals. Saka has added 7 goals. Lacazette has added 5 assists. Arsenal’s schedule is getting a bit harder for them, but they are in good form, and I think they can expect some points out of their next few games. The good news for Arsenal is they are not playing in Europe this season, they can focus solely on the EPL, and if they can stay somewhat consistent, they will reach the Champions League spot.
The trends are heavily on Arsenal’s side in this matchup, and with the form Watford is in right now, Arsenal might get another win here. The price on Arsenal is not that good, but I think we can stretch that to -1.
