West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth face off on Monday in an English Premier League showdown at London Stadium. When these two teams faced off in September 2020 it was AFC Bournemouth that secured the 5-3 victory. 

West Ham United currently sits in 17th place in the standings, having picked up 11 points. In the last game against Liverpool, the defense wasn’t bad, giving up only one goal, but the offense couldn’t get on the board. West Ham had 46 percent of the percentage and three shots on target. Maxwel Cornet and Craig Dawson have been dealing with injuries, both could be back to play in this game. Flynn Downes started in the last game, but it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is AFC Bournemouth who sits in 13h place in the standings having picked up 13 points. Their last game came against Southampton, was a competitive one, but they lost 1-0. The defense gave up a goal in the 9th minute, and they couldn’t ever get it back as they were defeated by a goal. They had 54 percent of the possession, but only three shots on goal. David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly are still banged up heading into this match, and they won’t be able to go in this game. It’s expected that this will mostly be the same team that played against Southampton. 

West Ham’s offense hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, but their defense is going to have no issues locking down the AFC Bournemouth offense. This might not be the prettiest game, but West Ham is going to find a way to score at least a goal. AFC Bournemouth is going to give up an early goal again here, and West Ham will secure the win.
