West Ham United and KRC Genk face off on Thursday in a UEFA Europa League group stage showdown at London Stadium.

West Ham currently sits in first place in the Group H standings having picked up six points in the two games. West Ham opened up the Europa League with a 2-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb and followed that up with a 2-0 victory over Rapid Wien. In the last game. They actually only had 47 percent of the possession, but they outshot Rapid Wien 4-1 and that led to the victory. West Ham’s last game came against Everton in the last game, and they were able to win 1-0. Angelo Ogobonna was the goal scorer in the 74th minute to seal the victory. West Ham hasn’t given up a goal this season in the Europa League, and the defense is going to need to be the strength this season.

On the other side of this matchup is KRC Genk who currently sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up three points. In the first game, Genk beat Rapid Wien, but in the last game, they had some struggles losing to Dinamo Zagreb 3-0. Daniel Munoz also picked up a red card in the 65th minute and won’t be available in this game. They actually had 61 percent of the possession in that game, but they only had one shot on target, and that led to the defeat. Their last game on Sunday against Charlerol wasn’t a good one as the defense gave up two goals. They had 58 percent of the possession and eight shots on goal, but they couldn’t find the back of the net.

West Ham is the better team in this matchup, and KRC Genk is going to struggle to get good scoring chances. West Ham will also score at least two goals, and that will be the difference as they get the job done. Back West Ham -1.5.
