Will Frances Tiafoe be able to cause the upset by playing some great tennis like we saw from him in the first round, or will Diego Schwartzman bounce back after a tough week at the office at the Monaco Masters?

Frances Tiafoe was in control of his entire match against the up and comer, Carlos Alcaraz, in the first round, beating the youngster in straight sets 6-4/7-6. Tiafoe showed us some great composure throughout the match which we do not usually see from him in these clay court conditions as he aims to finish points off too quickly and sometimes gives it a bit too much power. Frances Tiafoe will be happy with that victory and he will want to build on it to ensure he continues to improve and does not go back down in form.

Diego Schwartzman will want to get back to winning ways after losing a tough match in the second round of the Monaco Masters last week, one of his favourite tournaments, to Casper Ruud. Diego Schwartzman loves playing on clay, but he just has not found his mojo completely in 2021, having some bright moments here and there, but also having some very poor moments at the same time. Diego Schwartzman will know that he is going to have to be at his best here if he is to get back to winning ways, but I am sure he is ready.

This is going to be the first meeting between both players, and it is definitely going to be a very tight encounter as both players can play very well when they are in form. Frances Tiafoe will be filled with confidence after that first round match, but I still believe that Diego Schwartzman will come out here ready to give it his best and show everyone that he has not gone anywhere and he is ready to finally show us his amazing tennis which we saw in 2020 as he reached far into many tournaments.
