Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet Benjamin Bonzi in the Semi-Finals of the 2022 Mallorca Open. The match will be played on Friday June 24th, 2022.

The second seeded Greek superstar will face the unseeded Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi for a spot in the Final here at the Mallorca Open. Both men have performed well to reach this point but only one can move on to the Final. Will it be Tsitsipas as expected? Or can the underdog Bonzi pull off a stunning upset?

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the second seed here at the Mallorca Open and is the 6th ranked player on the ATP Tour. He hasn’t been in his best form since the start of the grass season, a surface that he traditionally struggles on. However, he is still one of the best payers in the world and his serve and forehand make him very dangerous regardless. After struggling in Halle and Stuttgart he will be delighted to have found here in Mallorca, right before Wimbledon starts. He overcame the spirited challenge from Marcos Giron in three tough sets, but knows he will have to do much better than that if he is to make a deep run at the All-England Club. Tsitsipas is still the heavy favorite here against Benjamin Bonzi, but will be very wary of his opponent after their three set tussle in Halle, and the Frenchman’s outstanding form this week.

Benjamin Bonzi is not seeded here at the Mallorca Open but is seemingly in the form of his life. After playing very well last week in Halle where he was unlucky to lose to his current opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets, he has run through the field here in Mallorca. His victories over Denis Shapovalov and Daniel Altmaier were particularly devastating, and he will definitely be backing himself when he gets another crack at Tsitsipas. He is playing with extreme confidence and with Tsitsipas still not looking totally comfortable he may be able to pull off a shocker.

Despite Bonzi’s brilliant form and Tsitsipas still finding his footing on the grass I am expecting a win for the Greek here. His experience and extra firepower will be the key difference here and I am expecting a very hard fought win for him. He will be desperate to continue this momentum ahead of Wimbledon, the one Grand Slam where he has truly struggled so the motivation levels will be extra high. Bonzi will give it his all and I think he will again win a set, but back Tsitsipas to pull through and move on to his first ever grass court Final on the ATP Tour.
