Antwerp Open: Grigor Dimitrov vs. Milos Raonic 10/23/20 Tennis Prediction
2020-10-23 10:00:00 EDT
It is the No.4 seed in Grigor Dimitrov meeting the No.5 seed in Milos Raonic in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Antwerp Open on Friday, October 23rd 2020. Will Dimitrov be able to battle his way through another match here or will Raonic power through with his big serve and massive forehand once again?
Milos Raonic has been solid in his first two matches here in Antwerp, winning both in straight sets and not losing serve once. Raonic was able to power through his second round match against Cameron Norrie, winning 7-5/7-6. Towards the end of the second set, Raonic called a medical time out and since then he was not as strong in the match. However, he was able to power his way through and win the tiebreak to seal the victory. Raonic will have to ensure his body is at its best on Friday as he not meets Grigor Dimitrov who will not allow him to stand still on the baseline.
Grigor Dimitrov battled his way through his first match here in the second round against Pablo Andujar, coming back from a set down and winning the second and third set. Dimitrov showed us some moments of brilliance and some moments of tightness in the match and he was able to eventually seal the deal. This was Dimitrov’s first match on an indoor hard court in a long time and we cannot fault him from being tight, however, I am sure he will definitely improve in this quarterfinal.
This is going to be the 6th meeting between both players, with Grigor Dimitrov leading the head to head 3-2. I believe this is going to be a tight match, and one which each player can win. However, Raonic did not look on top of his body towards the end of the second set on Thursday, and if he continues to struggle physically, this will not allow him to move or serve to the best of his ability. If these are not helping him, Dimitrov will be able to push him around and steal this match and make it to the semifinals.
