French Open: Iga Swiatek vs. Martina Trevisan 10/06/20 Tennis Prediction

Iga Swiatek looks to continue her amazing run of form as she meets Martina Trevisan in the quarterfinals of the 2020 French Open. Will Swiatek be able to follow up on such a perfect performance against the favourite here Simona Halep, or will we see another upset with Trevisan winning?

Martina Trevisan has been a dark horse here in Paris, really having to work to book her spot here in the quarterfinals. Trevisan does not have a big serve and she has had to rely a lot on her superb movement and ability to rally for a very long time. I see Trevisan being very similar to Diego Schwartzman because she is able to make up for her size and lack of big serve with her strong movement. Trevisan, although she is very solid, will find it very tough to manage here as she will have to face a player who just beat the favourite to win the title here in Paris with ease.

Iga Swiatek has been superb all tournament, beating some big players. Most notably she was able to beat Simona Halep in the fourth round in straight sets, only losing 3 games to the heavy favourite to win the title! Swiatek will be filled with confidence and rightly so, but the pressure will be on to back up such a solid performance and make her first career Grand Slam semifinal. Swiatek looks to be rising fast and she will definitely make an even bigger name for herself on the WTA tour in the next year.

This is going to be the third meeting between both players, with the head to head standing at 1-1. This is going to be a tight match, and one which either player can win. However, it is hard to go against Iga Swiatek who just managed to put on an extremely solid performance against Simona Halep. I expect Swiatek to make her maiden Grand Slam semifinal here in Paris and have a real chance of lifting the trophy and deservedly so after her incredible performances on the red dirt here in Paris.
