French Open: Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Pedro Martinez 6/2/2021 Tennis Prediction

Fifth seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece will play unseeded Spaniard Pedro Martinez in the Second Round of the 2021 French Open. The match is scheduled to be played on Wednesday June 2nd, 2021 at approximately 8:15am EST.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the biggest contenders for the French Open title here in Paris, and has been having an excellent season so far in 2021. The Greek star has been consistent in his performances, and is finally living up to the promise that he displayed early on in his career. He started slowly but regrouped well to defeat Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in straight sets in the First Round. Tsitsipas absolutely dominated this match from the baseline with heavy groundstrokes and his big serve, and will be looking to do the same here against Pedro Martinez.

Pedro Martinez is the world #100, and is riding high after stunning the in-form Sebastian Korda in the First round. Not many would have given him a chance in this match since Korda had won his first ATP title the week before, but the Spaniard showed remarkable composure to defeat the promising young American. Martinez is an aggressive baseliner but likely lacks the consistency to be able to bother Tsitsipas for prolonged periods of time. He enters this match as the heavy underdog and will have to play the match of his life to have any chance here.

This match will have only one outcome, a straight sets win for Stefanos Tsitsipas. I expect the Greek star to really contend for this title here at the French Open, and he should waste no time here against someone ranked 95 spots lower than him. This will likely be another dominant performances as he marches onto the Third Round here at Roland Garros.
