Fourth seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece will face sixth seeded Russian Andrey Rublev in the Final of the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters in Monaco. The match is scheduled to be played on Sunday April 18th, 2021 at 8:30am EST.
This is set to be a blockbuster Final between two of the most in-form men on the ATP Tour. Both players have been in outstanding form so far here at the 2021 Monte-Carlo Open, and will be ready and rearing to go. Who will win and claim the first Masters-1000 Title of their careers?
Stefanos Tsitsipas has had one of the most consistent seasons in 2021, and has firmly established himself as a member of the top tier of the ATP Tour. Despite his strong season, he is still searching for an elusive first title of the year and will be pumped and ready for this Final. He has dominated his opposition so far here at the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters, not dropping a set en route to the Final. He clinically dispatched Dan Evans in the Semi-Final, dictating play with his serve and not allowing his opponent the opportunity to get in a rhythm. He enters this match as the slight favorite, but knows that his opponent Andrey Rublev will be no pushover.
Andrey Rublev is perhaps the most in-form player of the past two years, dominating the ATP-500 circuit and is finally making the leap up and making his mark on these big tournaments. The young Russian has impressed for a long time with his punishing groundstrokes, and has displayed an uncanny ability to maintain a high level throughout tournaments. He shocked the tennis world by upsetting eleven time Monte-Carlo champion Rafael Nadal in the Quarter-Finals, and followed it up with a strong performance against Casper Ruud in the Semis. When he is striking the ball well and confident, not many players are able to keep up with him, and the young Russian seems locked in and ready to take his first Masters-1000 crown.
This match is sure to be a treat for the fans, and will be full of exciting shot making. Both men are equally deserving to be here, and will be eager to take the first big title of their careers. This match is very difficult to predict, but we are going with Andrey Rublev here. The Russian has been in tremendous form throughout the past two years, and it seems like nothing will stand in his way here. After dominating the lower events, he seems destined to win here, and we think that he will edge a thriller here. Stefanos Tsitsipas is certainly capable of winning here but he has a history of succumbing to pressure at the final hurdle, and he won’t be able to get away with that here. Andrey Rublev to win and become the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters Champion.
